A gravestone marks this site along the Peru Creek hiking trail, approximately 1 mile east of the Chihuahua trail. As of August, 2002 the stone was decorated with flowers. To get to Peru Creek, proceed 4.0 miles east of Keystone Ski Area on Montezuma Road. There is a parking area on the north side of the road, where you can park and hike in. You can also drive in - the road is a bit rough in spots, but does not require 4-wheel drive.
