This site is devoted to Colorado Genealogy. Here you will find historical and genealogical records for the State of Colorado.  In addition to the online indices of vital records such as wills, probates, naturalizations, birth, death and cemetery transcriptions, you will also find a history timeline, Colorado maps, research tips, and a tutorial on how to read legal land descriptions.   Plus some fun stuff that changes as the mood moves me.  Check back often, as I add new indices on a very regular basis!

I'm Vikki Gray and this site represents my effort to make the world a little better place - at least for genealogical and historical researchers. This site began because I was frustrated at not being able to find online genealogical records in New York.  I couldn't do anything about the New York records, but I could do something about records in Colorado, where I live.  So here it is.

One important note before you get started!   Most families had a member or two that headed to Colorado for the Gold Rush.   If you are researching Colorado records during the Gold Rush era I strongly suggest that you check more than just one area.  I have found that the majority of the prospectors moved around from strike to strike.  A typical miner may have prospected in the Central City/ Blackhawk/ Georgetown area, then Breckenridge, then down to Cripple Creek, moving again to Telluride, and finally ending up back in Denver.  This is very common, so don't limit your search to one county unless your ancestor was a farmer!
